March Event – Lunch and Learn

The ISES Chicago March “Lunch and Learn” was hosted by The Special Events Department at Kendall College and very well attended! Guests arrived to The Capitanini Family Banquet Room at Kendall College which featured exposed wooden beams and impressive wall-to-wall views of the Chicago skyline. Candid and posed group shots were snapped by Deja Views and instantly displayed on screens inside the room. Attendees mingled and networked upon arrival, then noshed on spectacular spring-inspired BBQ stations featuring beef brisket, pulled pork, cornbread, German potato salad and fresh fruit.

All guests were comfortably seated at dining tables adorned with floor-length reversible Papaya Kaleidoscope linens newly offered by M&M Special Events. Barb Harris of Kehoe Designs, and ISES Chicago President-Elect, provided the opening welcome remarks and formally introduced Rick Farrell, our featured speaker from Tangent Knowledge Systems. Rick is the author of the upcoming book “Selling Has Nothing to Do with Selling” and engaged the audience in an interactive discussion on hospitality-related contracting obstacles, negotiation tactics, and offered tips on how to outshine your competition. At the close of the event venue tours were provided by Christine Franz, Director of Special Events at Kendall College.

Be sure to join ISES Chicago for our next upcoming event, May Membership Drive, Tuesday, May 21 from 5:30-7:30 pm.  It will be an evening of networking and new connections.  You will also learn more about the CSEP (Certified Special Events Professional) program as well as enjoy locally crafted brews direct from the Goose Island Brewpub.
