ISES-Chicago BE CONNECTED The Chi-Town Scrounge

The September meeting was a combination of NACE and ISES Chicago, an annual tradition. In the spirit of collaboration and competition, the Chi-Town Scrounge was the theme of the program.  Guests arrived at Rockit Bar & Grill in River North and were brought upstairs to their private event area. This room features a large bar, multiple TVs and a cozy seating area near the floor to ceiling windows overlooking Hubbard Street.

Upon entering the event space, guests were invited to network over cocktails and light bites. You could feel the excitement of each attendee and everyone was intrigued about the event. We think our sponsor, Colin Lyons Photography, captured these emotions brilliantly. Our featured sponsor of the event, Corporate Event Interactive, took the helm and divided all the attendees into teams for this custom scavenger hunt. Each team was given an iPad and clear instructions on the scavenger course and the rules included. The competitive spirit was in full-force with each team vowing to complete the challenge first.

With the word “GO”, teams were off and running to the five locations. Each team was required to complete trivia challenges and photograph their hunt. During the hour long hunt, a live Twitter feed was running to update the status of each team. Our teams visited Hotel Palomar, Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, American Junkie, Westin River North and Zed451 with some surprise treats awaiting them from each sponsored location.

As teams began filtering into the final location, AyChiwowa, they were all smiles. The pace of the hunt, the challenges required, and the collaboration required were a much needed break for all attendees. Sometimes we just need a little fun with our industry peers in this wonderful city!!
